R1 60 (Rap 1 - Deimos Canyon. Anchored from a conglomerate boulder about 30 feet back and drops about 35 feet.)
traverse right (A drop of about 12 feet down to a driange that cuts across the ridge. Down climbing this drop is not recommended as it is unsafe. Back up about 150 feet and traverse low on the right (south) side then scramble back up the drainage to the ridge. This is also where you start to leave the ridge and work your way over to the head of Deimos.)
3rd peak (A third peak to walk over. This third peak is reddish in color and has a small cairn constructed on it.)
left (Saddle to cross over along the ridge. Crossing over this saddle looks like you will need to climb over some difficult loose stuff to get back up on the ridge on the other side. Route find a way to scramble around to the left (north) for an easy way up.)
RP-04 (Short section that is almost level before climbing again. From here you can see a peak along the ridge you will be climbing over.)
left (Traversing slightly left (north) of a peak along the ridge. This is first of three small peaks at roughly the same elevation. this peak is labeled on some maps as 1744. An upclimb will be needed to cross over the saddle about 300 feet farther along the route.)
2nd peak (On the second portion of the peak after crossing the saddle with the short up climb.)
RP-02 (Ramps and drainages become less exaggerated and travel over to the ridge can be accomplished with more of a straight line.)
RP-03 (On the crest of the ridge running along the south side of Deimos Canyon. Terrain is rugged and convoluted so you will not have a good view down into Deimos.)

The pothole at the bottom of rap 5 can be escaped on the RDC side but water and slick mud can make this difficult. In the rare event the pothole gets filled with water it will be a swimmer for a few feet. Be prepared to help one another up out of this large pothole especially if it gets wet and muddy. Rap 6 is anchored from a small arch / hole in the rock down in the small pothole after the large pothole below rap 5 and drops about 175 feet down a mostly sloped wall. Side Slot2 (The narrow conglomerate section opens up to a very wide wash with conglomerate walls. Also there is another side slot carved into the left (south) side just down canyon of here.)
Canyon Ends (Bottom exit of Sidewinder. This is where the canyon dumps out onto it's alluvial fan. The last part of technical difficulty is about 1.8 miles up canyon of here.)
Parking (Park here to start and finish the Sidewinder Canyon route. This is at the southern end of a dirt strip parking area.)
