MINARETS, COURTRIGHT, and SEKI! Minarets Course Area Guide About: This guide is meant to be most useful for the person who is unfamiliar with the course area. It provides some history of where we have carried out activities in the past. The guide has been structured to aid in the initial and ongoing (in the field) design of a course. The CAG is best used as a tool in planning course activities, as a risk management tool it has its limitations. For example, it can show a travel route to plan into your itinerary before course or an alternate while you are in the field but the description of the route may be lacking in ‘how best’ to manage safety given the objective and subjective hazards actually encountered in the field on a given day with a given group. Remember this CAG is a poor substitute for other resources in the field: the manual, your co-instructor and, most importantly, your judgement.
