Condor Peak Group Hike January 20th 2019. Join us for our next group hike! We will summit Condor Peak (5,460 ft) via its west ridge, starting at Trail Canyon trail head which is located right off of Big Tujunga canyon road and north Trail Canyon road. The peak overlooks much of the Tujunga Canyon Reservoir and the Angeles Forest that most people don't see. This route was first shown to us by TRVRS Ambassador Ben Broer. The approach to the mostly dry falls and Condor's west ridge is 2 miles (with roughly 1000 feet of gain) of fire road and defined single track before turning east toward the peak. At this point, the route turns 'use trail' with some thick bush surrounding the path. The remaining 3 miles to the peak are steep, climbing about 3,200 additional feet before topping out at Condor Peak for some epic ridge line scrambles. If you are thinking about coming out to this, be ready for some STEEP climbs, moderate bushwhacking (wear pants), scree sliding and rock scrambling.
